TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM:
REASON/SOLUTION:
Disconnected:
You may have exceeded the 100-second pause time limit. Redial into system. Previous dictation was most
likely saved -- no need to re-dictate everything, just continue from where you left off.
Call-waiting tone activated on telephone. Please use a telephone that does not have this feature or please turn this
feature off.
Pager went off and tone mimicked disconnect command. Please put your pagers on a vibrate mode while dictating.
Hung up/Disconnected
without saving:
Call OS-One to verify that dictation has been received. Because the VOR feature is active, the system
will save your dictation with a just hang-up, but we would prefer if you actually went through the save/end session
process.
It is not necessary to repeat your entire dictation from the beginning. To be sure, please contact OS-One immediately
after the disconnection to make sure that your dictation is on the system, then continue dictating from where you were
cut off/left off.
Improper/
No Prompts:
Prompts that should be heard at initiation of dictation: Welcome, ID# request, Subject# request
(if applicable), Work Type # request (if applicable).
Depending on your department's set up (please check your instructions), you must hear at least two
(Welcome and ID# request) of the above prompts. If you do not, please call OS-One immediately.
DO NOT BEGIN DICTATING UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED.
